Why Session Times Matter

Forex is a 24-hour market, but it is not active 24 hours a day. Liquidity moves with the sun.

The "Kill Zones"

• London Open (08:00 GMT): The highest volume time of day. Often sets the trend for the session. Best for EUR and GBP pairs.
• New York Open (08:00 EST): When the US connects with Europe. Massive volatility. Best for USD and Gold (XAUUSD).
• London Close (16:00 GMT): Often sees a reversal or profit-taking.

Asian Session (Consolidation)

The Tokyo/Sydney session is significantly quieter. This is often used for "Range Trading" or scalping strategies. Do not expect massive breakouts here unless there is news.
